Cathy is an expert and seasoned member of Counsel who gets results. As well as three years’ service as a WPC, she has experience as a Civil Solicitor, and HCA (All Proceedings). This enables her to see the legal process from a wider point of view.
When Cathy looks at a case she sees things that others have missed
Cathy will work closely alongside you to achieve the best result for your client. She is supported by a dedicated and skilled clerk (her husband Vincent), whose role is to provide the full range of administrative support her busy practice demands.
Their dynamic and energetic approach will help her and you to ensure that all submissions and admissions are made in an advanced and timely manner regardless of the nature of the case.
She will update you by phone both on arrival at court and when leaving. Unless otherwise agreed in advance, detailed backsheets are supplied by the opening of the next week day.
Your cross examination was lethal: at the beginning you set it up so that later, the witness would create an element of doubt regardless of how they answered
Cathy’s formidable talent and skills were recognised in December 2015 by her admission to the List of Defence Counsel of the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon as Lead Counsel. In March 2016 she was included on the List of Counsel before the International Criminal Court, and in April 2016 on the Rule 43 List of the UN Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals.
Earlier, her advocacy skills were honed in Autumn 2013 on the South Eastern Circuit Bar Mess Foundation Advanced International Advocacy Course at Keble College, Oxford. The Middle Temple awarded her a Full Scholarship for a week ‘internationally recognised as arguably the best and most intensive advocacy course in the world’.
